Finding Books at SSU and Beyond

Follow the links below to find books at Salem State University Library or in libraries elsewhere.

I found a book in the catalog. Now what?

Once you find a book that looks relevant to your topic, the first thing you want to check is:

Is it an e-book? or not? If e-book, click on Access for Salem State University via EBSCOhost, enter you login info, and your in!

Not an e-book? Keep reading...

How to find a physical book in the library:

In the NOBLE library catalog, scroll down and look for the library location:

Books are kept on shelves, called Stacks, and are organized in order by call number. In the Berry Library, the stacks are on the 2nd and 3rd Floors. Find the exact call number on the shelves and you have found your book!

Call numbers that begin with A - HC are on the 2nd floor, HD - Z are on the 3rd.

For more info on call numbers, look at What is a call number? from US Santa Cruz

Once you find the book, pull it off the shelf and if you want to borrow it, take it to the Library Help Desk to check it out using your Salem State Clipper Card.
