Nancy Dennis & Anna Hocker

Introduction

  • Town libraries and local historical societies are also research sources to consider.
    • Many libraries have "local history" rooms.
    • Some, like the Newburyport Public Library, have undergone extensive digitizing of historical local newspapers.
  • Local historical societies should also be on your list of places to visit.
    • They will have artifacts, portraits, and archives related to your time period of interest.

  • To find a historical society, simply google the name of your town/city and the word "historical society" or "museum.'
