‘Do Now Quick List’

1. Connect with parents (social media, newsletter, surveys, promote your mission statement, allow them to make recommendations).

2. Branch to your public library (as best you can).

3. Familiarize yourself with your Selection Policy and get more eyes on it, this will be school committee document. Look at your Challenge Process, but it could be.

4. Collaborate with your health teacher.

5. Discuss mental health issues in your school with your nurse.

6. Lead professional development around these issues.

7. Send this ACLU Letter to your admins: Equality, Free Speech, and Democracy-related Implications of Calls to Remove School Library Books, from January 23
