Alternative Library Final Project

Goal: The final project is to demonstrate and answer questions by studying social relations, political agency, and economic practices, we develop a more complex understanding of the forces, opportunities, and constraints operating in the Black CommUNITY. The Alternative Library will be the bridge, example of black community, black history, gender and family relations, black culture, etc.

Guiding Questions:

· How can I convince others to read this book and share those connections to sociological/Black Social and Political thought thinking via libguide and book date?

· How do sociological and Black Social and Political Thought themes learned in my coursework tie into the real or fictional life experiences told in the alternative library books you read?

 

Learning Objectives:

· Explore the thesis / main theme(s) of book relating to a Black community and/or the situation of Black community.

· Engage critical thinking skills to better understand sociological themes and how they tie into the experiences you read about.

· Communicate meaning of Black community and its connections to sociological thinking, Black Social and Political thought, and current situations through the creation of a digital presentation and make recommendations to others.

· Improve visual literacy skills through the creation of slides and video and the proper use of images, in order to convey information in a persuasive and meaningful way.
