Library Work Study Student Employee Training Guide: Types of questions

Types of questions

  1. Directional questions: Some of the most frequent questions that library student employees receive involve directions-- where to park, how to get to the library, where to find a book, or where to locate a study or Archives or Education Resource Area.

  2. Policy questions or questions regarding library services: can usually be answered by referring the user to the Berry Libraries webpage.  Whenever you feel that a user could benefit from one-on-one help, refer that person to a full-time staff member. Examples of policy questions are: "How do I get an alumni card?" "Can my teaching assistant check out items in my name?"

  3. Reference and referral questions: Check the box below. Contact a Librarian or a staff supervisor.
