Modern Language Association Video Tutorials

Particular emphasis on searching the MLA International Bibliography

Purpose of this Guide

  • The purpose of this guide is to spotlight the excellent video tutorials produced by the Modern Language Association.
    • Tutorials cover basic searching, advanced searching and genre searching.
    • Some of the introductory tutorials are available in French, Spanish, German, Italian, and Chinese.
    • The videos were made for library users who access the MLA International Bibliography through the EBSCO interface.
      • This is exactly how Berry Library provides access!
    • In addition to individual video tutorials, MLA provides a 90-minute online course for students.
      • The course is free, but students must complete a registration.
    • Following the completion of the introductory MLA course, students may elect to view videos on special topic searching.
    • In addition to the videos about searching, MLA has created videos of particular interest to faculty. They cover:
      • teaching tools
      • creating an online identity in MLA
      • how to be included in the MLA Bibliography
