Purpose

The purpose of the libguide is to provide Salem State English Studies Department faculty with a searchable repository of scholarly book reviews.
It's primary purpose is to assist in the acquisition of books for the Berry Library.
The list also serves as a current awareness service for faculty and students in the English Department.

Selection Criteria

The list emphasizes books that are highly recommended in library book review sources, reputable newspapers, and scholarly journals.
In instances where a title covers an important topic but has not been reviewed, additional information is provided to aid in purchasing decisions.
