About This LibGuide

Purpose

  • The purpose of the libguide is to provide Salem State English Studies Department faculty with a searchable repository of scholarly book reviews. 
  • It's primary purpose is to assist in the acquisition of books for the Berry Library.
  • The list also serves as a current awareness service for faculty and students in the English Department.

Selection Criteria

  • The list emphasizes books that are highly recommended in library book review sources, reputable newspapers, and scholarly journals. 
  • In instances where a title covers an important topic but has not been reviewed, additional information is provided to aid in purchasing decisions.
