Tips for writing a summary

Here are some tips for writing a summary of an article. 

  • Read the original text, highlighting, marking and annotating it.  
  • Pay special attention to section headings and chapter titles. 
  • Explain each paragraph in one sentance. 
  • Write your summary as if your reader were unfamiliar with the original article.
