The NOBLE online catalog allows you to search within Salem State's collection. You can also search within the collections of the twenty-seven other libraries in the consortium--more than 3 million items system-wide!
When you find a print book in the Salem State collection that you want to look at, the call number will allow you to track it down. (Also pay attention to the location, e.g., Reference, Oversized, Salem State ERA.) Look below to see which floor you'll need to go to.
|First floor||Reference (non-circulating)|
|Second floor||Call numbers A - HC, Oversized, Education Resource Area|
|Third floor||Call numbers HD - Z|
What if you're interested in something at another NOBLE Library, or something in our library that's currently checked out by someone else? You can request it (or place a hold) online with your Clipper Card barcode, on the back of your card.
If you don't already have a NOBLE password, click here and click Reset Your Password. Enter your the 14-digit barcode on the back of your Clipper card and an email will be sent to you for password reset. Visit the Circulation Desk if you encounter problems, or call 978.542.6230.
Like most academic libraries, the SSU Library uses the Library of Congress Classification to organize print books. Library of Congress call numbers combine letters and numbers, and because of that increased complexity can take a while to master. If you ever have trouble making sense of a call number or finding a book on the shelf, please don't hesitate to ask for help: the library staff is here to assist you!
