Provides indexing and abstracts of scholarly, government and general interest articles on human impacts to the environment. Some full-text is available through links to other databases.

Hospitality and Tourism Complete This link opens in a new window
Hospitality & Tourism Complete covers scholarly research and industry news relating to all areas of hospitality and tourism. This collection contains more than 828,000 records, with coverage dating as far back as 1965. There is full text for more than 490 publications, including periodicals, company & country reports, and books.

Gale OneFile: Hospitality and Tourism provides access to scholarly journals, magazines, and trade publications that cover topics including the cultural and economic aspects of travel and tourism. The database offers current and relevant content that provides well-rounded coverage of both the historical and current state of affairs in the hospitality and tourism industries. The curious traveler will also find a wealth of information, from contents on state parks and information on planning a vacation to full-text travel guides from Fodor's.

Database of full-text journals and books in many disciplines, including geography, from Elsevier publishers.

Scopus is a source-neutral abstract and citation database curated by independent subject matter experts. It is strong in the sciences and social sciences.

Academic Search Complete
This large, multidisciplinary database provides abstracts or full-text of over 100 geography journals. One of the EBSCO databases, it can be searched simultaneously with GreenFile, and Hospitality and Tourism Complete.

A huge set of databases that include a strong collection of Geography journals.

Sage Journals Online
Full-text of online journal articles. Particularly strong in Tourism and Human Geography.
JSTOR
This is a large database of full-text articles covering many disciplines, including geography. Please note that current issues of journals are not available in JSTOR. Typically, there is a three to five year delay, depending on the journal title, from the time an article appears in print to when it is added to JSTOR.
PAIS
Useful for government policy aspects of geography. This database contains citations from journals, books, conference proceedings, government documents, book chapters, and statistical directories in the area of public policy.

Provides a variety of source types on international issues including reference works, academic journal, magazine and newspaper articles, videos, audio files, statistics, and vetted websites. Full-text.

Finding Journals Available from SSU

To find out if Salem State has access to a journal, type the name of the publication in the search box on the Library homepage and select the Journal Title Search tab above the box. A list of databases in which the journal appears will come up, along with a link to the catalog if the library has print copies of the journal. You may search for articles published in the journal by clicking on the name of one of the databases. Please note the dates a journal is included in each database (to the left of the database name).
