Google Scholar

To see direct links from Google Scholar to resources available from the Salem State Library change the settings on your computer. 

  •   Go to Google Scholar
  •   Click on the Settings icon at the top of the page
  •   Select Library Links from the left column
  •   Type in Salem State University
  •   Mark all that apply to "our" Salem State (there may be links to Winston-Salem State Univ. in North Carolina)
  •   Save

Your computer will now show a full-text link to the right of a title if the SSU Library owns it.  Click on the link to open the publication.


Search the Catalog for Books and more

Search NOBLE for books, ebooks, videos and more.  

Search Salem State holdings, or broaden search to View Entire Collection.

You now have the call number.  Where are the books?

Second Floor      Circulating books A - HC & Educ. Res. Area

Third Floor           Circulating books HD-Z

Item at another NOBLE Library? Request It/Place Hold online with your Clipper Card barcode (on back) and a password you can create online.  With your password you can also renew books online.

To create a NOBLE Catalog password, click here and click Reset Your Password. Enter your the 14-digit barcode on the back of your Clipper card and an email will be sent to you for password reset.

Getting Books and Articles from Other Libraries

WorldCat is a database of library catalogs from around the world.  It can be searched like the NOBLE/SSU catalog and books found on it ordered through Interlibrary LoanJournal articles not owned by the SSU Library  may also be requested through Interlibrary Loan.  A link to the service can be found in the right column of any SSU Library webpage.
