Background Information

Use encyclopedias, textbooks, good quality web pages, handbooks, books, review articles, to find out about any topic which you may not be familiar with.

Some web pages to look:

Centers for Disease Control - lots of health data and statistics, plus information on a variety of health care issues/diseases/disorders.
- search the web for pages on your topic.
Library Catalog - locate books, reference books on medical topics in our (and local) libraries.
MedlinePlus - includes dictionaries, encyclopedias, links to medical information on diseases/disorders.
